President’s Message (Lois Scott): Hello ladies and Merry Christmas. It seems so strange and so soon to be saying that again. It seems only last month that we were doing this same thing. As this years comes to a close, I look back and I look forward. I know what 2009 was and what all we accomplished but as I look forward, I am very certain that 2010 will be even better than 2009. Our new President, Pat Hodges, has a lot to offer and has been planning and organizing to get the new year off to a great beginning. I wish for Ms. Pat the very best.
All of you have been a great source of strength and support. I do appreciate your kindness and participation in the projects for 2009. I especially thank each of you for the support you gave to the quilt show. It was a great show. We have had a lot of very good comments about the show. If we all continue to pull together, we will continue to make Springhouse a great quilting group. Each member is important. Any organization needs great members who are willing to work. I thank each of you for your hard work and support.
Incoming President's Message (Pat Hodges): The first board meeting of 2010 is scheduled for Monday, January 4 at 9 a.m. All 2009 and 2010 board members and committee chairmen are encouraged to attend. We'll make sure the new chairmen get help from the outgoing chairmen and make plans for the new year.
2009 Raffle Quilt: This year's quilt was won by Sarah Montaudo.
2011 Raffle Quilt: The committee for the 2011 raffle quilt would like to locate pictures of all the raffle quilts since our organization began. If you have any of these pictures since 1992 please bring them to Frances Williams at the Christmas party or January 2010 meetings. Many thanks if you can help.
Quilt Show From Faith: My thanks to all who helped me my work registering quilts: Norma Birman, Pat Hodges, Mary Rawlins, Frances Williams,Fay Sheffield,Patsy Avery, Barbara Parks, Bonnie Griffith, Elaine Faison, Ve Weiter, Diane Schweder, Barbara Horton and to all the willing hands that took down the quilts in record time.
Kathy Beaulieu who did a great job of matching pillowcases to quilts, this was a big job that helped us get the right quilt to the right owner.
Cindy Jo Ayers for taking on the task of "viewer's choice" voting.
And last but not least, Lois Scott, who did more tasks than can be mentioned.
Thank you all.
From Joyce Snoddy: Merry Christmas everyone. What a joy it has been to serve as your librarian this past year. Everything is nearly completed for your enjoyment. The shelves are getting full and ready to be checked out. The joy I had looking at the books and magazines and seeing all of the quilts and gifts I want to do in my life time. I think I will be the age of Methuselah, ( 969 years old ), when I finish everything I want to make.
Come into the library and see all the neat patterns we have, plus books to read, and even some craft books for those who wear many hats.
May this coming year be full of finished UFO's, new quilt patterns to try because when we see the patterns, we have to buy new fabric, what we have just won't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God Bless each and everyone. And remember, Jesus is the reason for the season.
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year, Joyce Snoddy
